How to Make Quick Pickled Red Onions

Pickling your own veggies at home is quick, easy and so delicious. Try these yummy onions on your favorite toast, sandwich or salad!

Pickled Red Onion, Refined Sugar Free

Delicious and naturally sweetened pickled red onions.

  • 1 red onion, sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup hot water
  • spring herb, such as thyme or rosemary (optional)
  1. Slice onions thinly, preferably on a mandolin slicer. Pack in a large jar.

  2. Combine vinegar, maple, salt and hot water and pour over onions, ensuring they are completely covered.

  3. Let sit for at least one hour. Then refrigerate for future use.
